"While the media, surface and style are varied in my work, I am constant in my choice of subject. I prefer the undraped human form both male and female. I enjoy the contrast of painting or drawing the figure on unusual surfaces. It is exciting to allow the soft blur of suede, hard edges of stone or even the wrinkle of a thin parchment to influence the application of the medium. The translucent layers of flesh rather than the satin or linen is my motivation. I do like to joke that I just never learned to pain the clothes."
