Alumni Scuplture 2000
Alex graduated from Ringling College in 2000 with his BFA and Honors in Sculpture. After graduating he decided to stay in Sarasota and began working at a well-known local company, the Bronze Art Foundry.
Having fallen in love with the ancient lost wax bronze casting process while earning his undergrad degree, Alex refined his skills at the foundry and became a master metalsmith. He is one of only a few sculptors who do all their own casting work on their pieces, including the mold making, wax work, bronze casting, metal chasing, and patinas.
Alex has been a professor at Ringling College since 2012, teaching 2-D and 3-D design.
He is always eager to learn more and to improve his skills, Alex is currently earning his MFA in Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design. He looks forward to seeing how the two disciplines of sculpture and illustration will combine and find a new expression through his artwork.
