For almost 3 years now, I have been the Product Developer and Production Leader for a local company making unique hand-made cases for tablets, cell phones, and other devices. It is my responsibility to create new products and continually improve designs. I help lead a 12-member team producing up to 160 completely custom products daily. Products include book bound, sewn, and leather laptop bags, tablet and phone cases. In addition to directing product development and daily production, I have extensive knowledge of using all the machines and equipment used for production and their maintenance. My daily activities range from analyzing the efficiency of processes in production, maintaining quality standards, trouble-shooting machine malfunctions, and anticipating future needs of the production team as well as creating new products. If there is something wrong, I fix it; if there is something missing, I find it; if there is a need for quick mass production, I prepare for it. Whatever it takes, I get it done.
In my spare time, I am a bookbinder, seamstress, and artist. I have been binding and teaching bookbinding workshops for over 4 years. I have been sewing clothing and bags for more than 10 years, and I have extensive knowledge of many different types of sewing machines including industrial machines and programmable machines. My experience as an artist gives me a strong creative drive to constantly push boundaries and see things in a new light. I absolutely enjoy the process of learning, analyzing, and using my skills in new ways
